A Week In Bali Is Cheaper Than a Weekend In Miami
Many folks LOVE Miami.
And many think Bali is too expensive.
I get it.
The beautiful beaches.
Everyone looks like they walked straight out of a swimsuit magazine.
The super cute (and expensive) boutique hotels.
A nightlife that is unmatched.
It makes perfect sense.
As a native Floridian, Miami is a quick escape for a fun weekend of ratchetness and debauchery. My only, personal issue with Miami is that it’s expensive AF (use context clues for that).
Before we even talk about the cost of hotels, having brunch on the beach, or having the time of your life at King of Diamonds (KOD) – let’s first discuss the amount of money you’ll spend BEFORE you get to Miami.
You’re damn sure not going to Miami looking a mess!
So you go buy a few new outfits, swimmies (swimsuits), get your hair done, mani/pedi, the list could go on. Before you know it… you’ve spent hundreds and you haven’t even stepped a foot on the sand!
Or is this just what I go through to go to Miami? Ha!
When I start analyzing it all, I realized I could probably spend less money in everyone’s dream destination – Bali, Indonesia – than a popular weekend in Miami!
Was I right? Check out the video below and see which destination came out on top!

So interesting! I live in New Zealand (in the North Island), and it’s more expensive for me to go to the South Island than it is for me to go to Australia or somewhere else overseas! It’s kinda crazy when you start realising that travelling internationally can be more affordable than travelling domestically.
That’s so crazy, right?!
Haha! Beauty, I loved this post (especially the bit about swimmies, which you translated. I totally got it because that’s 100% how I think of fashion in my head, and found it fun and satisfying that you do too!) I’m from NY, but yes, obsessed with Miami and it’s beautiful people (such a sexy international crowd!)….but Bali is a class of it’s own. Hard to even imagine 🙂
This was great and so true! Going to miami for a weekend is not cheap. Have to do all the preparations like buying new outfits, update make-ups etc. Bali sounds so much more relaxed with sandy beaches 🙂
The preparations cost more than the vacation! lol
If I had a choice I would choose Bali, Miami is beautiful but it is party central and Bali would be far more relaxing that is for sure! Great vid!
I’d definitely go with Bali too!!!
Really? I’m probably at the same distance away from both destinations and I haven’t been neither to Bali, nor Miami.
You gotta make it happen!!!
I’ve never been to either place, but Bali sounds great! who cares about good looking people, it’s the nice people that make a trip more pleasant (well that and saving money makes a good trip)… just bring a magazine with the eye candy to flip through as you bask in the sun on the beach happy you saved money yet still in paradise… thanks for the info 🙂
My thoughts exactly!
Ah Bali…the beaches, the cultures, the people, the art..the whole package will spoil anyone who visit it, from massage at beach, to the fancy nightlife. But, I’d love to visit Miami even once without any extra cost for all the expense pre-arrive there.
Miami is fun! But yes… be ready for the ‘extra expenses’!
Living in Australia I have found that traveling to South East Asia is soo much cheaper than traveling around Australia … I prefer Thailand over Bali but anywhere in that part of the world is more affordable than Miami! Not too mention the food!!!!
Hit me up if you are ever in Perth 🙂
I LLOOVVEEE Thailand too! The food is phenomenal!
